I'd read another post here (page 3) about this particular coin, and one version of it being minted with "enhanced" tailfeathers. I recently ran across a jar I'd put a few coins along with a couple tokens into a few years back (probably around 2000). One of the 3 Sacs is a 2000P, and the tailfeathers are "rounded", which means the middle tailfeathers are longer than the others. Can anyone explain alittle more in determining (or post a pic of one) if I am in posession of one of the more valuable versions of this coin, if infact there is such a thing? If so, what is an approximate value of it ( I understand grading would be a huge variable).

Thanks

I have one of those. Only value given in Red Book is MS-63 - $2.00.

The only picture in the book shows rounded tail feathers.

As I understand it almost all of the rare variety were packed in cereal boxes as a special promotion. this was done before anyone knew that there were two different types. The rare ones are still sometimes called Cheerios dollars and are worth an extra premium if they are still in the shrink wrap on the card they came with. Several years ago i saw buy ads trying to get them for about $800 each in collectors newspapers. I then ran an add locally for three months offering to buy them without mentioning a price and got no calls so they must be fairly rare. siegfried schlagrule

I believe I'd read there were 5500 of them minted and were all purchased and placed into boxes of Cheerios. Guess I should have ate more cereal ;D
