I went to the bank to get some coin rolls, and this was in one of the rolls.

A proof found in circulation.

Doesn't look silver, bummer. You'll be hard pressed to get anything more than a quarter for it. Better luck next time CRH.

Silver or not, I still like learning about this stuff and it was still a nice surprise.

You’re right. it’s a clad proof, not silver.

Still, in my opinion, a good find.

By the way, thanks for being willing to help me with a lot of things. True, I could look on the Internet, which I did before I posted this, but I also like hearing from real people. It also helps me get social interaction, which is difficult due to my disability.

Thanks a lot,

Jared

Absolutely! Post away.
Have you tried some nickels for some silver war nickels? The first time I coin roll hunted was in about 1971 when I was just 7 years old. Nickels were my thing and once I found a two tailed nickel. I thought I hit the jackpot and called my dad at work. He settled me down and said lets talk more when he got home. He took a good look at the coin and then took about ten of them and with the double tailed one sandwiched in the middle, he showed me that the two tailed coin was smaller in diameter than a regular nickel. He then told me it was counterfit and had to explain that word. Then, he had to explain why one would counterfit a two tailed coin. I grew up quite a bit that day. Yes, I did use the coin a few times to my advantage before I lost it jumping on a trampoline.
Hope you have a great 2021, j!

Interesting note: A few years after that coin came out, "The Old Man of the Mountain" crumbled and fell off the mountain. By the way, congrats on the find and thanks for posting!

Didn’t know that. Thanks for the interesting note!

That's not something you see everyday!
