On page 179 of Coffman's "1001 Lost, Buried or Sunken Treasures" is this: "1. In 1925 the sum of $200,000 in buried treasure was unearthed on the Whitefield Farm, near Demopolis, Alabama, where it was hidden by relatives during the Civil War. More is believe to be there." I have seen this referenced as Whitfield Farm, as well, so do a search for both spellings.
