Leonard posted this over at golddredger.com and I thought you folks would enjoy this too. First thing he does is pan using a coal shovel...amazing!

Oh, and we all know not to use mercury like he is so let's just leave the whole mercury discussion at home ok?

PS although I'm told it's Czech, the bits of text look Hungarian to me so no promises on where he is digging LoL

I like the panning with the coal shovel idea!

You could use a sifting shovel to classify into the coal/transfer/snow shovel and quickly concentrate!

Hey Kevin , my buddy djpitr is from the czech republic. If you want an interpreter for the video just ask him. Hed be glad to do it I'm sure. His family is still there too and doing good with home made wood drop riffle. Biggest nugget so far was .55 gram.

This is the traditional way of the Danube gold prospecting. As I know the guy is Slovakian.
The original gold viewer shovel is made out of beech and burned the inner surface black to have better view of tiny gold particle.

Yup , there is lot of gold left there :) cool vid

I GIANT, portable Miller table.
I also like the scoop he was using for water.
I want one of those to scoop material and dump into my Bazooka.

Cool Video.

I saw a thing on TV about "panning" in either Africa or South America and it showed the "miners" shoving a pole in the bottom and using a large wooden bowl kinda "pan" to reduce what they brought up from the bottom.
The findings were meager ,,, for sure.
BUT
It is all they have,, so necessity brings innovation and ingenuity.
Wish I could remember the name of the show,, it was very good.

Hi hit===. Those bowls have a texture which holds fines better than a pan.
===========================================
I should have noticed that.
Always seems the "native" population has refined methodologies according to their needs much better than those who came after.

Kevin,
Been a long time man . Hope you're stil killin all that Colorado gold. Thinking about headed out that way soon and need some advice.
