Saturday I went back to that site that's been pounded for 40 years and made a bunch of finds. I found 9 Indians and a silver chain (which was lying on top of the ground. Also found a bunch of keys in different spots and two of them were old skeleton keys. It was my record for Indians in one day so I decided to go back Sunday. Sunday turned out to be better with 11 Indians, 3 Mercs, a Barber dime, 2 V nickels, a buffalo, silver ring and a small 14k child's gold ring. It's amazing how much comes out of this park considering it's been hunted for 40 years. Saw 4 others there detecting while I was there. It really has been pounded. Also dug a couple of items I'm not sure about. One is a peep show token from 8th Ave in NYC. Before they cleaned up Times Square it was know for prostitution and adult theaters. The trick is, if you want to dig the good stuff, you have to be willing to dig A LOT of trash. I added a picture of the stinkin Zincolns I found just as an example.

Very nice finds. Congrats on the tribe and the silvers. GL&HH.

Great finds! and O how I detest that bouncy, scratchy irritating noise that my ATP makes when locating a Zincoln...but it looks like I may be digging more of them in the future! Thanks for the insight, thanks for sharing..ddf

Wow that's a hell of a lot of IHs. Great job bud. You obviously have honed your skills a bit more than most. That ring is a nice one as well. Any decent dates on the coins?

Probably the best is 1874, followed by 1864, 1865 and 1909 on the Indians. Although the 1909 isn't an S, it's still a tougher coin.

Wow thats a lot of IH'S old coins, silver, gold, thats an awesome day for sure...

Great finds that sure is a pile of nice finds. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - For a pounded site that's an incredible haul ! Is it a huge area ? I love the zombie coin pic at the end (zincolns).

Are you the Don I met the last 2 weekends in a certain urban pounded park?

Good work and congratulations on a great hunt. A site is never hunted out.

Congrats on some great finds. The finding fairy has been very fair to you. RJ

Sadly the oldest park around here was built in the 1970s and who cares if it's been pounded? LOL I want a pounded park like that one for Christmas. I would probably pitch a tent and live there. What a wonderful day of swinging the 3030!! Great Job!
