Found these at a barn today built in 1812 and has history up until now. Had a near death experience and you can read about that in the today's finds. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/404063-near-death-experience-fun-hunt-haha.html#post3888035 The first item I have seen before and am curious what time period it is from. To me it reminds me of the old button rivets. The second thing, who knows.

I though it was a rivet for a saddle or something it is brass, how old would you guestimate that to be Creskol

Technically, it is called a "carriage knob" .. it was used for securing the side curtains. It is hard to tell exactly the date, but mid to late 1800's would be my guess.
