I believe the angel is a candle sniffer. There should be an attachment point near the center of gravity on the back. If it is it could have value. :) Were these two items found together?

That was my first thought -- though the design is atypical -- until I saw the bottom photo. Now I am inclined to agree that it is a handle for something. For what, would depend upon the depth and size of the screw threads and the kind of metal used. Pot metal implies a decorative use. Iron would make more sense for a hefty tool like a poker.
