Gman, If you found those in Maine or New Hampshire-- that bird is a long way from home
indeed ! That was almost certainly made between the 1920's and 30's in New Mexico or
Arizona - by a Navajo silversmith- Chances are pretty good that it was purchased by a tourist
visiting Santa Fe, by railroad in the 1930's . Great find ! worth a few shekels too ($100.00)

Argentium I think you right about the design but unforetuneatly is made of mixed metal
It did have a pin clasp on the back at one time .
It was found here in MASS at a old homestead we have done very well at. HH Mike
