2 stones. 1 very magnetic 1 a little less. 1 brown 1 black.

Short of taking these to an expert. I would like members opinions on these.
Which one should I take to expert if any. The brown one being the most magnetic.

I am not even close to being an expert but I would say finding them in Iron Range Minnesota would probably lead to these being iron ore of some type. The black one is really cool and I would have brought it home too.

Your heavier, 11 oz. rock, prolly Fe or magnetite rich basalt, water worn=river cobble. Rock #2 less magnetic but with a metallic lustre, prolly hematite,
but more importantly, neither meteoritic.

Meteorite hardness = 4 SG = 7.5-7.8 Streak = steel gray + shiny.
The nickel in meteorites is close to iron on the PT.
Grind a small window, polish, etch with nitric acid often reveals a crystalline structure.

I've never etched one so I don't know what concentration of acid is used. I've etched stones with nitric acid but they were
lithographic lime stones for making prints. Grinding and polishing might show something.
It's worth a try.
