Well managed to get out for 2 hunts with hunthicks and Hans R Dirty over the past week and these are the results of my hunts... Perfect weather for detecting... the chain I now believe to be off the helmets as seen in the last picture...one shako plate is missing the crown but I think Hans R Dirty has it :laughing9: other finds are coins from the late 1700's to 1908, 4 thimbles! no wonder I didn't find that many buttons, a copper wedding band with design and so on....

link for the 93rd

Man, those are freakin' awesome!!!! I gotta get me some of that!

Bout time you posted, I was gettin tired of waiting.

WOW hate to say this but apparantly those plates are common ?? that's a question, not an assertion OK.

Love the open mouth bell looks bigger than the one I found recently ?

BTW that's a lot of $41?. I love days like that, hope I have another soon.

Good luck to you guys out there.

Rick

It's been a good couple of hunts, today was great with the weather and lots of goodies coming out. I found a piece of that chain as well, didn't realise that's what you guys were talking about. Now onto the next spot! ;D

2 more, now that's crazy. Where are all the buttons! Too bad they're not 1812, the 93rd is a good one! Then again if that spot gave up an 1812 plate I'm sure Hans would have already hit it hard, so he'd have 4 and you guys would have notta!

Those Plate's are awesome

In case you didn't see what I posted on Hicks thread...that brass wheel...

Very cool finds Patriot, you did really well! :notworthy:
These two are beautiful, I love finding bells!

Yours looks similar to one I found a couple of weeks ago!

Had a blast, hard to believe it's been 6 years since we were on that site. Although it's not as early as some of the sites we have been on it was fun and we all learned a few things. To think both our Grandfathers served in this Regiment in later years was ironic.

You find an intact plate with a crown then 1 without, Hicks finds 1 without a crown and I find 2 crowns.
Just before I dug my first crown you said you would give me one for my plate. That was too funny.
Now if I can figure out how to post a pic maybe we can figure out what crown goes on who's plate?

I think with all the iron there they are being masked, both the buttons I got were really iffy signals with lots of iron in the holes. I even dug a couple 1880s bottles with one signal.

Nice to get a complete one :headbang:
