Welcome to Tnet I think the black one is Obsidian What state are you in.That will tell us the kind of rocks in that area .If you can take a photo of the green one so we can see it better.Osage

There is a place in that town called American Glass That may be where both of the rocks came from i Think the green one was part of the wall of their furnace .If so the black rock was broken out after the glass cooled and just glass. But leave your post open you may have a big black Diamond LOL Osage

Your photos seem to show the green is part of a larger grey-ish stone, and so is the black.

The green appears to be Olivene, which usually occurs in Granite matrix.

Need to see some close-up photos of the black one, for certainty. Obsidian isn't usually seen on grey rock.

Maybe I am missing something here but they look like a couple pieces of limestone used for riprap to me. The green looks like a newer piece partially covered in algae and the dark piece looks like it has been in water a while.

On the Green one, you can see where someone has cut a piece off with some kind of saw, the rock is green all over. they are dirty, the sawed part was wiped off, and cooking oil was put on it to bring out the color,
