I just got around to resizing the pics taken on Saturday. I know this is late, but it was a nice find and I let a friend know I would post it. I was checking out a old skirmish site I know of on private property. Honestly I have hit this site about 6 times and never found anything other than the odd piece of clad and a musket ball or two. This field was freshly plowed so I figure the coin was drug up from deeper. I am a telling you, when I saw the two pillars on the back I started to shake. I left it in the hole and got my hunting bud to come over with the camera to take a pic. I later found a 37 merc across the field from where I found the Reale. This combined with a 44 wheatie and an 02 Indian at a different place earlier in the day made my Saturday complete. It was a good day. I hope you like the finds friends.

Awesome score!! :icon_thumright: Congrats :headbang:

Very nice coin! Your location show Texas/Tennessee... I am guessing that was not found in Texas?

Please post the picture your hunting bud took in the mud?

Actually I am originally from Tennessee and you can take the boy out of Tennessee, but never the Tennessee........... and you know the rest right?
I did find it here in Texas, right about 2 miles from the border.

I will see what I can do about getting the pic from my pard where it was in the ground, but She just took off for Vegas and I am not sure she could send it to me until Monday after she gets back.
Trust me, it was not in mud, we have not had rain in so long it is as dry as the Sahara! The field had been plowed about 3 weeks ago so I figure that must have gotten it shallower than it originally was.

In my time metal detecting this is the oldest coin I have ever found. I appreciate the comments and now I guess I shall let this thread die. I appreciate all of the kind comments from my fellow searchers and hope to find something else to share soon. I really enjoy seeing what other find also and please keep posting the great finds y'all have.
Best Regards 21st

Thread not dead just yet...congrats on the Spanish silver. One of my favorite things to find.
