Yesterday was a gorgeous day in the Northeast, so my family and I decided to have an end-of-summer cookout at a lovely lake in a nearby town. This whole area just happens to also be the region where Secondstar, ACOJoe, TreeFarm, Berkshire Mike, and several other of our beeping buddies have been researching and exploring since 2017.
While my wife and her brother were prepping food, I decided to take a quick hunt close to the picnic area where we hadn't yet paid much attention to, mainly due to the fact that most of our hunts so far have been much deeper in the woods where we've located foundations and farms. As expected, there was modern trash everywhere, but I concentrated on the slopes leading down to the lake's outlet when I got a beautiful tight signal on the Deus. In between a tumble of rocks out comes a 2 reale, my first since August last year from the farm location a few miles to the north.
Suffice to say, all interest in the picnic evaporated, but I knew I had to get back as the rest of the family was arriving. Great to be able to show them this coin, a lot of time I feel like those who don't metal detect don't quite get what the attraction is. Show them a 200-year-plus piece of silver though and everyone starts asking how much a machine costs!
I feel like this site will never stop producing, a lot of work and a lot of miles to still walk, but one beauty like this makes it all worth it.
Happy hunting, thanks for looking,
Steve
