I finally got a day to take advantage of the unseasonably warm February we are having in Pennsylvania. Over the winter I had secured permission to hunt a couple houses a few miles from where I live. The houses aren't too old, but date to around the 20's so I was hoping to score my first silver of 2012. I did score my first silver, plus 3 for good measure. Nothing too special, but the totals for the day were.....1 Eisenhower Dollar (first I ever found), 1 Clad Kennedy Half Dollar, 15 quarters (All Clad), 22 Clad Dimes, 2 Silver Roosevelt Dimes (1959D and 1964D), 1 Mercury Dime (1918), 1 Barber Dime (1914D), 44 Memorial Cents, and 5 Wheaties. 93 coins in total between the two houses and my body is paying for all the knee bends now! Was very happy to get out. I hope the weather stays nice so I can do it again. Happy Hunting!

Man that is an awesome haul! :icon_thumleft:

Can you tell me what was the average depth of the silver coins you found?

You're killing the clad. Great haul, and greater silver.

Jibb,

Common theme for the day was 4 inches. Almost everything was right about 4 inches including the silver.

I wonder what keeps the older silver from sinking deeper? I'm still learning but I can't figure that one out. I'm hunting a property that I'm getting tons of clad and a couple wheat cents but no silver yet and I know it has to be there. I have been thinking maybe they were just too deep but some of the quarters I'm finding are at 8 inches so I can't figure it out.

Dream hunt! Thats more silver coins than Ive found all year . Congrats!

My Back hurts just thinking about all that digging :laughing9: But Congrats on a great day and for the sliver :notworthy:

Nice silver! And welcome to the IKE club too! They sure put out a heck of a signal, found one in a big city park once, still recall it. None since tho. Am still working on finding any silver version of a dollar coin here also!

It is great to open a hole and see the shiny stuff. Nice job.

That's a good bunch of digs! And a great looking barber besides being a dime trifecta! SCORE! HH.

That's awesome!!!! nothing better then shiny silver looking back at you from the hole. :icon_thumright:

Love how that silver stands out against the clad!

That boy is a diggin fool, my, my! That would put blisters on my hands all in one day.

It's just amazing how clean the silver coins stay compared to the clad copper coins. Great dig man.
