Spent the first 1.5 hours exploring a Winter Wheat Stubble Field that had some Roman finds but I wanted to try nearer the far edge next to another farmers field that had lots of hammered in. Although I got lots of lead & the same signs as the other field like rolled up bits of lead, I didn't get a hammered. The signs are good enough not to cross off the list but it will be a while before we can afford the time to risk a bit grid operation. Ended up with a Tudor Thimble, Medieval Coin Weight & a Love Token (6 Pence of Will III).

After lunch went to our next best option Brooch Field for 3 hours;

16 Roman Coins - 2 OK that we need for the album, slightly different variants
Bit of a Roman Bracelet
Roman Nob-Nail
Iron Age (Celtic) Fibula
Cru'dad dug a star find - Roman Iron Pilum - Rare UK find, only about 10 Recorded on the PAS. It fits this site as we have had other Roman Military Finds like this one:

I really enjoy seeing these ancient artifacts we will never find across the ocean in the former British colonies. The Romans did not make it this far! I had never heard of a pilium before, so learned something. Thanks for your continued informative posts.

Another great job guys. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing.

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

I haven’t been around here in a while, but it’s nice to see you’re still crushing the good finds. That Roman pilum is really great.

Great stuff Crusader. I always learn something from reading your posts. I had no idea even what a "pilum" was. It was fun reading up on that topic after seeing your post. Thanks!
