Both of these things were found at old foundations/homestead sites. The first thing is very heavy(maybe lead?) and has three holes in it. It was mounted on something at one time, I think!? and has some letters/numbers "Z12" and a symbol on it. The second thingy is brass and has "teeth" on one end--it almost looks like it slides onto something??? Thanks for looking and any help! kind regards, sandcreek4

The first item looks like part of a height adjustment mechanism for a lawn mower, or similar machine.

Don't know (yet) about the second item.

Is that lettering or a pattern that is punched/inscribed just above the teeth?

Sorry Sand Creek, I can't help but stare a your yard stick in the photo's. That's a beaut! Where from Seneca Falls, N.Y.?
That's an old ruler I found at a garage sale--its called "THE EYESAVER" U.S. PAT. 1776245--CAN. PAT. NO. 286904, SENECA RULERS. Its really nice because it breaks down inches in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and is 15 inches. Thanks for looking, Likely Guy! kind regards, sandcreek4

I'd say the second item may be a scoop for and old stove or fire place to scoop ashe
But it's so LITTLE! It's exactly 4 inches long and 1 inch wide. I don't know though, so I welcome any guesses! Thank you 4-H staff! kind regards, sandcreek4

The first item reminds me of a sprinkler head weight.
