2 more CW cannonballs and a skull today.

Today I returned to the area where i found a grape shot/canister shot the other day and I found 2 more within the first half hour of hunting. Then i found a piece of lead case shot. The next 2 hours yielded nothing but modern bullets and a pair of needlenose pliers on the riverbank. Heading back to the car i found the skull of a 4 point buck and lastly a fired sharps carbine bullet. Al in all , not a bad day of hunting...might travel to the beach tonight looking for gold. The last photo is after knocking most of the rust off the balls.

Yeah, that's some Grape Shot. Not quite a whole cannon-ball but makes a nice buck-shot load for the cannon when joined with about 10-15 of its friends

Dig some of the big flat iron signals maybe you will find the iron plates that goes with the grape/canister shot!
