Grabbed a couple more cent boxes this week to do. First box was pretty amazing:

15 Wheats: 1918, 1920 (2), 1940S, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1948, 1950, 1954D, 1955, 1956 (2), 1957, 1958D
The box also had an unbelievable 13 Canadian cents, from 1973 to current.

Second box, on the other hand, pretty lackluster:

8 Wheats: 1945 (3), 1946 (2), 1952D, 1955D, 1958
2 Canadians, including a 1961.

Also, picked up a 1964 Roosevelt earlier this week in a roll, my fourth silver Roosie since I started CRHing in December.

@jlr1076, I'm curious why you mention this as unbelievable. Is it that there were more Canadian cents than usual or are you specifically hunting for Canadian cents and happy with the results? Are Canadian cents more valuable than lincolns or wheaties?

Nah, not hunting them at all. Just was surprised at how many there were. I keep them all, although not sure why. I do like the old King George ones though - have found a couple of those in the past.

Mostly just doing this to complete my wheat collection, maybe find some rarities and hopefully an Indian Head (although I know that's very rare).

I can empathize with you on this one, I caught myself holding on to canadian cents as well for no real good reason. I think it's that you go through hundreds (if not thousands) of pennies looking for the combo-breakers (ie a wheat in a sea of memorials). When you come across a canadian cent it matches the description (of not being a memorial) so you instinctively throw it in the keep pile, even though its not really what your after.

I too have gone through pennies to try to fill my books and also have tons of wheat pennies left over from my grandfather's collection which I inherited. PM me what your after, maybe we can do a mutually beneficial trade?

Maybe it is just Michigan, but I wish I would only find 15 Candadian coins in a box. I am half way through a Brinks box of cents, and am averaging 1.5 Canadian per roll. One roll I opened had 5 Canadian cents in it. The good side is that most of them are copper, so I am holding on to them.

Cool Stuff...I love hitting the Cents everyonce in a while....its ALWAYS a sure thing for me..and 15 candians?..that is alot...i dont think i have found that many in the 20 plus boxes Ive bought..
