2 layers of copper over wood

I found this in the middle of an old trail in the woods. It has an outside layer of non-magnetic metal, maybe copper.
Then another slightly thicker layer of non-magnetic metal, maybe copper again.
Then what I believe was once solid wood, though it looks like it is just lined with wood.

Any idea of what it is?

mid 50s-1970s is my guess ,,, some of the older style mil tents still use wood poles for shelter halfs and have the brass/copper caps
