2 KG ii's My Oldest IH and a Lead Seal

Had an unexpected and rare short day of work and decided to go see about getting permission at at enormous field located on a river with lots of great history. Knocked on the door and a very nice man said go for it anytime and proceeded to tell me that there was a couple houses close by about 250 years ago. He also said he only plants a very small section of his field and just hays the rest. His property borders another site of mine and I basically have a monopoly on hundreds of acres that would take me years to hunt. The very first signal I got was the lead bale seal. If anyone has any ideas on i.d. I would appreciate the info. The next find was a KG2 at about 8". After that I got the other(what I believe is another kg2 at about 1". Didn't have a lot of time so I swung my way back towards my truck and picked up the 1952 wheat penny and the 1865 IH. So it appears this site has some good potential. Only issue is that it's close to salt water and I knew the coppers might be rough. Maybe my colonial silver is hiding out there :-). The IH is my oldest to date. Excited about this area and having that much ground to hunt at any time I feel like it. Thank god for friendly property owners. Without them, well, I wouldn't have made many of these posts! image.jpg

Wow...... you are rockin that T2 you dog. Congrats :icon_thumleft:

With all that room to swing on your colonial silver is bound to happen, you are getting so close, you are due!

But the best way to get a silver is to keep digging coppers , keep it up!

Id call 2 kg II's a good day out! hope the salt water is kind to your future....cause she can be a harsh mistress!

Very nice! Kgs are on my bucket list

Way to go Abe, let me know when you need help up there, I got gas money, a tent, and a air mattress!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, have detector will travel!!!!!

You my friend are welcome anytime! But if you find my colonial silver you might not make it home :-)

Sounds like you have a good spot to fall back on anytime you need a place to hunt. Hopefully there are a couple hot spots on all those acres.

That's a nice way to start things off at your new site Abe, and it bodes well for future hunts. With those KGs coming from there I'd say your chances of pulling an early silver are pretty high. Good luck!

Very very nice. Congrats.

2 KGs is a great way to get started on a new site.... Hope that good silver is hiding in there somewhere for you!

Your in the zone that's for sure. Bag seal, Kg's all the right indicators now you need to look for the iron patch or Cellar hole and BAM, nectar in the poc.
Good luck,
ZDD

Stock up on batteries and go find the silver:thumbsup:

Great time frame for those, and what you have to do is find the site.... because digging a high number of old targets is likely what is going to give you your first... well you know...

You have got the sites to hunt ! You are finding great old stuff ! Don;t put too much pressure on yourself. It will come when it comes and it will come ! Like deer hunting that first anything your trying to bag can be hard to get ! Relax enough to make sure you are enjoying your time in the field . Whenever a curious bystander asks me if I have found when I am out hunting . I always answer the same ! yes I say ! I have found peace of mind ! MaineRelic

Exactly. I'll take care of putting the pressure on him! :occasion14:
