2 KG ii's My Oldest IH and a Lead Seal
Had an unexpected and rare short day of work and decided to go see about getting permission at at enormous field located on a river with lots of great history. Knocked on the door and a very nice man said go for it anytime and proceeded to tell me that there was a couple houses close by about 250 years ago. He also said he only plants a very small section of his field and just hays the rest. His property borders another site of mine and I basically have a monopoly on hundreds of acres that would take me years to hunt. The very first signal I got was the lead bale seal. If anyone has any ideas on i.d. I would appreciate the info. The next find was a KG2 at about 8". After that I got the other(what I believe is another kg2 at about 1". Didn't have a lot of time so I swung my way back towards my truck and picked up the 1952 wheat penny and the 1865 IH. So it appears this site has some good potential. Only issue is that it's close to salt water and I knew the coppers might be rough. Maybe my colonial silver is hiding out there :-). The IH is my oldest to date. Excited about this area and having that much ground to hunt at any time I feel like it. Thank god for friendly property owners. Without them, well, I wouldn't have made many of these posts!
