Whats up t-net...

figured i would go out for a few hours and give my sand shark some time...i havent been able to go out since my second knee surgery a few months ago.. so me and my little brother head out and about 20 mins into it i find a ring about 8 inches down in the wet sand..then a real green 1977 dime that was about 12 inches down..
as we were leaving i decided to keep swinging and got a nice hit which turn out to be a small coin spill about 7 inches down... the rest of the time i was digging up bottle caps and pulltabs and alittle iron as well as 4 rusty fishing hooks.....

just felt nice to go out and do some hunting again..

the mens ring is a jvl tungsten ring, small coin spill, 6 oz lead sinker and a ton of trash which was disposed of properly..

Ikes! I didn't know there was a beach in alameda when I was stationed there. What's the name of it?

hi.. i think the name of the little beach is called southshore? im new to the area so im not to sure..lol i will take a look when i go there tomorrow morning..

Jdiggs, yes I hunt Santa Cruz. But only after storm erosion. I despise most dry sand hunting, and prefer to let mother nature group targets for me on the wet, after the correct combination of swells, tides, winds, etc... :) Trouble is, the really good times of erosion hunting, can sometimes be very infrequent. We've had entire years go by with no *really good* erosion. But sheesk, when it finally does happen, and you stand in an area no bigger than a basketball court for hours, digging targets as fast as you can (inc. old coins), you'll never return to dry sand hunting again, haha

Get on the "kinzli" forum, which is the forum specific to CA hunters. There's several SF bay area hunters that chime in there. Inc. a few I recall that hunt those inner-bay beaches of Alameda area.

thanks for the great info tom.. i will go check out the kinzli site...
