2 hours detecting.. May need some help on this!

Hey all. Went detecting today for about 2 hours. Didn't find much of anything. Not even a coin! Anywho did manage to find this dohickie. Any ideas on what it could be? Its solid and is maybe an inch long if that. Thanks for any help!

I believe it is a small sliding bolt for a door of a cabinet. Maybe a kitchen or farm piece from the size of it.

I agree with the sliding bolt. I also think it could be an older small envelope opener
