2 hour hunt today

Hi, went out for a 2 hour hunt in the heat today. Did'nt do too bad. Got
25 - pennies
20 - dimes
8 - nickles
2 - quarters
And 2 diamond studded earrings. Guessing not real. LOL

I'll say. Great. My venture into the 95 degree heat, then drizzle yielded three clad quarters, a handful of post '59 Lincolns and the "O" from a Ford truck. Not to mention a unique-looking pull tab that read identically to a quarter.

I wish I fully understood the reading on my X-Terra. 36 consistently a penny. 40, consistently a quarter. But 30, 32 and 44 seem to yield nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure what your doing wrong. My machine don't have a digital number to go by. My whites XL Pro uses a meter with a needle. If it moves off iron I dig it. I do dig a lot of pull tabs and bottle caps. And can slaw.
Good luck with your machine. I got an explorer with the digital meter. But I hav'nt taken the time to learn it yet. I hear the x terra is a good machine though. I hav'nt used one yet.
