Hello all...

desperate for land at this time of year so decided to call were I found the Stirrup Ring and check out the fishing with the land owner, put the detector in the car just in case.

This turned out to be a good decision, all of the fields were under crop but some turf he had been growing had been taken off and a section of about thirty square yards

was detectable.

The usuall bits of scrap lead and quite a few musket balls were all that showed at first, then right out of the blue a hammered coin :headbang: looks like one of the Edwards (half groat)

not quite sure which one because the legend has been clipped of :help: some nicer buttons came to light and a Silver whatsit no idea of what (open to id on buttons and whatsit)

any way here's the pictures :notworthy:

That is one nice coin! The 4th and 6th pic on right is a mouth harp.

Brian

You Brits always post amazing finds :icon_sunny: 2 hours and all these goodies.

In the 4th pic top. Is that an old key?

Its a medieval horse fittment, normally a lions head.

I haven't looked at the book but its a EDWARDVS, so maybe the III?? Norrrows the search for you.

Forgot to say, its a great haul of stuff for this time of year, nice job

Could also be Richard111 reading EDWARD :dontknow:Have you noticed the DON in London, looks like the die was slightly worn at this point :icon_scratch:

You blokes in the UK sure have the most amazing finds! I wish us poor guys in the States had half the history that you guys have... lucky dogs!

Nice finds!

Congratulations on the great finds despite the land shortage.

The hammered is Beautiful. I also have a soft spot in my heart for the 18th c. Jew's Harps. Nice to get a whole one of those. Bravo!

Best Wishes,

Buckles
