2 hour hunt = RAF badge

Had the day off today so went out for a few hours up the hill by my house in gloucester UK
found a RAF cap badge and a small pice of led with lines scratched into it I have no idea what it is so if anyone can help that would be great

How thick is it? It looks like it might have been used for a shim.
