I was searching boxes of dimes with CoinSurfer (my 13 year old son) and he was commenting on how all the really good old finds I come across is when he is not searching with me. Not 15 minutes later, I come across a dull/dark rim which turns out to be a 1908p Barber! As if that wasn't good enough, a few rolls later he comes across a really worn rim, but the kind that have that nice milky white color and says, "This one looks old...." He pulls out another 1908, but a D. The rest of the box had 2 other Rosies - 60d and 63d.

I think that made up for any exciting finds he may have missed out on. The only other time that can top the double Barbers was when I picked up $500 in CWR's and found 84 silvers, with 60 being Mercuries.

This was my 4th and 5th Barber this year.

Excellent!!! I am in need of a haircut but I am sure it will come soon ::) I have 10 boxes of halves coming tomorrow. I almost can't wait!

Excellent reward for all time and work you put in. :icon_thumleft:

The Barber dime still eludes me. >:(

Nicely done!

My experience with Barber haircuts is that they work in mysterious ways. I once found two in two weeks but didn't find any again for a year. That's when I found two in one day (including an '08-P in a box and a nearly see-through '03-P at my dump bank's reject slot).

HH,
cuttybce

Nice going...I remember when I found my first and only Barber - it was a brief moment of "what the heck is that" and then "holy crap, that is too cool"!

great finds and nice condition too considering they are still being circulated after 100 years. :icon_thumright:

they were being circulated. i don't think he is going to let them go now.

Amazing finds MU!!! :headbang: I've been hitting the dimes hard the past 6 months - about 3k weekly and I usually average about 30-50 silvers per week. I have found a good ratio of mecs and silver canucks to roosies but never once a barber! I would fall out of my chair if I found one, let alone two in the same sitting! Where abouts are you located geographically?

Cool, next time I am out that way (which will probably be never) I'll be sure to hit the dimes hard!!!

Again, amazing score -- can't wait to find one myself someday!!! ;D

I get super excited when I find a Merc...I wouldn't know what I'd do if I found a Barber!

I'm still waiting to find my first Walker.

Loving the barbers! Nice!!

Speakin of a haircut, I need to get one today.

Awesome job guys!!!!

That must feel great MU. :icon_thumright:
I know hunting with your son is special, and priceless!!! Even if your 4 year old only knows how to look for the "silver rims". :laughing9:
