Here's a nice pocket spill from many moons ago. Both the 3 cent and 2 cent were in the same hole at about 6-7 inches deep. My new spots seem to be promising. The button was found at my "pounded" cellar hole. "Extra" and "BS" are visible on the back. The dates on both coins seem to be hiding behind a very stubborn crust. Both of these coins (by logical research) are pre 1879. I believe they were dropped during the big anniversary celebration in 1879. 4,000 people showed up. Even though they were beaten up by sandy soil I am very proud of them both.

It's great to find more than one in the same hole but to get two firsts while doing it is awesome... That would also be two firsts for me and I've been at it for around 33 years. Congrats

Great finds. Hoping to find either some day. See what a little extra effort gets you? Persistence, I think they call it. All good for you!

Yeah I should of thought of something better. 8 cents the hard way WOULD be catchier.

Re: 2 FIRSTS IN ONE DAY!!!!

BIG CORRECTION. After closer examination, the shielded coin is actually a 2 cent peice. VERY COOL!!

Nice finds!
Those have been on my list for a long time too.
