Got permission to search a private yard while visiting family in NC. The neighbor hood was built on a camp that was occupied for most of the war. This was only 3 hours of detecting and covered about a 1/4 of the yard. I always read about soldiers carving lead but this is the first time I’ve actually dug some. Not sure what a couple of these items are so feel free to chime in with info. The second and third photos looks like a tiny coin or token (13mm) lady liberty on one side and “1” with “1864” on the other side. I’ve never seen a coin like this so not sure what it is.

Nice finds! Your coin is a counterfeit US 1 Dollar gold coin. Looks like some nice carved bullets. I also see some cartridge box finials, a flattened Burnside casing, suspender buckle and a couple of nice general service buttons. I would keep looking around there if you can, probably quite a few more nice relics hiding about.

Also, the bullet in pics 8 and 9 looks like it may be a field made nipple protector.

Gonna head back to the site today for one last hunt before I head home to CT.

Awesome.
Ill say yr right , you are on a Camp , U scored lots of NICE Relics , many Carved pieces (sweet!) buttons (sweet), Drops , Fake Gold Coin is a Super find imo as well.

Got to be more there. GL Today.

Ill agree with Dharmacy about the "Nipple Protector" . NICE!

I really don't think I have ever dug one. Yet!!!!

I think I would extend my stay at least until the other 75% of the yard is detected.....that's a great variety and number of relics for a 3 hr. hunt, congrats on the NC finds....JB
