Day one was with IH, and A.
I got;
1 crotal bell.
An odd shaped spoon. (wider than long)
1 wasted copper.
1 musket ball.

It sure was a short window on that site, harvest yesterday, planting by tonight.
Congrats again on the silver token.

Day 2 was ZDD and me.
I think we put the last hammering on this spot, time to be moving on from there.

Got a little buckle, and a tiny broken one.
Couple buttons.
The silver a bit newer, (different spot) but nice shape / toned.

Nearly one of each.

Dave got a cool find, hope he gets it cleaned up / posted.

I'm intrigued by that spoon Rick. Never seen one with a bowl shaped like that. Is it pewter? Cool find!

You've done well my friend, that spoon IS very cool. I can't wait to get out again.
ZDD

You are due to hit a hot spot soon Rick. I feel it coming!

Nothing wrong with that hunt buddy. Little bit of everything. My kind of hunt

Thanks Bill, no it is not pewter. I've never seen one like it before either ?

Steve hope you are right, you have been before ?, and for the "most part" I have been batting zero on new sites this year. That can only happen for so long before something good happens.

Thanks.

Thanks Abe, your right good variety, I'll tell ya at first I was disappointed with the silver not being old, then I got to realize that I am 50+ years old, and the coin is 70 years old, and in good condition. So all in all it was a good couple of days.

PS I'll get me a complete show buckle someday...or die trying...EH ?

Thanks

Nice finds Rick. That spoon is different and I like it. Hope some one has some info on it. You'll get that shoe buckle when you least expect it.

I've been disappointed before digging newer silver. At a colonial site and dug a 1949 quarter. I quickly smartened up and changed my perspective. I said "Are you kidding me? You just dug a big beautiful silver coin!" Who the hell isn't happy with that. Stop being a spoiled lil s*+#! lol.
If we start taking these great finds for granted we may as well hang it up my man. I truly appreciate every keeper now. Old or newer

I think I remember that post, and reminding you of the same thing...it is easy to get spoiled, and every hunt is not going to produce the oldies. It is important to remind ourselves and be thankful of what we do find.

Good luck out there my friend.
(although with all your great sites I'm not sure you need it...The luck)

Nice bunch of finds.
Congrats.

Nice assortment of finds Rick, the silver is in fine shape.

Both of you are bang on with your views on digging a newer silver or something else that we have ho-hummed when dug at an older site. Spoiled we get digging up history sometimes and it's a wake up call, heck just getting out swinging is a bonus and finding anything is a good day out.

Well said! A guy down the street from me in great health about 45 years old just went on vacation, he started feeling sick and 8 hours later was paralyzed from the waist down from a VERY rare spinal disease. It was just a reminder that being able to get out of bed in the morning is a small victory. Being able to go out in the woods and hunt for treasure....well that's what dreams are made of friends!

Cool finds, personally I like 1600's up to 1964 or newer if its silver. I love finding history. I love finding old and new tokens. I really love GOLD, old or new I don't care, if its GOLD with a diamond even better. I don't limit myself to just one type of hunting, for me, it makes it very interesting.

Any silver is good silver, although I am guilty of being disappointed by a silver Rosie at a spot where I have dug Barbers and Vickies. Then I think of all the people who have yet to find a silver coin and how happy they'd be with it.

I bet that sweet signal got you excited at that spot though lol. Nice finds
