2 Days In One Week! I Must Be Getting Lazy!

I haven't been able to get away for two days in one week all year. I could get used to this.
I drove down to check out a field to see if the ground was bare at all and found that it had been torn up and planted to grass just lately. I am assuming that it will turn out to be native grass which means this site will be gone for good. Another one bites the dust. It produced a couple of nice final prizes for me though, and as you can see by one of the pictures, I didn't have to walk far from the truck.

I also found this nice lepidodendrum fossil along the edge of a washout in the field.

Nice finds Tom I told Lee last week that I thought I was just getting lazy, but this year most of the places that I always do well.... I didn't, and one area that I have had to myself for years, has a couple zealots hunting it now....Gets a little discouraging oh well, time to start scouting again.

rest easy friend, it looks like they planted winter wheat. bad thing is after wheat, they usually plant corn or beans without digging it up. good luck

I'm sure everyone is going to be gaining some new spots in the next few years. I've been keeping my eyes on some bluff tops that are currently in CRP contracts and heard they will be expiring in the next couple of years. It's a no brainer they will be getting farmed with grain prices the way they are so I'm hoping to gain a few new spots. Just hoping they'll get a good ground turn over the first year.

Thanks again for sharing and thinking since you are on a streak, you might as well just put in for a few vacation requests right now.
