Have not found anything grooved yet, but I believe these are 2 net weights mainly because of the context and because none of the ends of these look to have any wear. I found them about 30ft apart on the current bank of the river. When I found the first one I thought for sure it was pecked and maybe a weight or anchor. Then directly inline another 30ft up I spotted a similar shaped stone, but a bit bigger with what looked like the same peck marks.

My initial thought was 2 weights from the same net as they are very similar and though they could be natural, I really think they are pecked grooves.

Here Im standing on the current bank looking up the other bank, the river is about 30ft behind me.

Net weights, something else or natural?

Just from what I'm used to, they look the part of notched weights. Just larger then average.

I can't imagine a natural process that would notch out those rocks like that. They look man made to me! You got a nose for artifacts.
