Got a late start today and was planning on linking up somewhere with Denny and Max. On my way to where they were, I stopped at another spot for a quick recon but by then the weather had rolled in and there was some nice lighting so I beat feet back off the beach. I decided to go further up a head of the storm and find somewhere to hunt until it hit there or blew over. Max let me know that they had bugged out as well and had rescued some cookie coins from the beach but were on their way home. I stopped at the next spot and saw I didn't have much time but I didn't really need much anyway...the ring was the second target I dug! 10K 3.5 grams with 1 TINY diamond in the center, other two are missing.
After a few more minutes the weather hit there too so I waited it out in the car for a bit and it quickly passed. I finished out the hunt there and went and got a few cookie coins as well that turned out to be 3 x silver mercury dimes, 4 x buffalo nickles and 2 x wheat pennies. LOTS of pulltabs today and a small piece of ceramic and a cool marble rounded it all out. Oh and I have no idea what one item is....it's a piece of and iron or steel bar/ingot or something. It's pretty heavy and a magnet will stick to it. I banged off all the rust but don't see any markings.
