Well, I'm definitely getting back into the swing of things after a three week hiatus from detecting. Early this morning in the fog I went to the Bay side of Belmont Shore in Long Beach, CA. I've worked this area a couple times last summer, but not as slow as I did today. I worked a very small area between a Lifeguard Tower and two Kayak & SUP wash stations as pictured below. I had a feeling with people washing down their water toys, that rings could be flying off in the process. I spent about 45 minutes scanning very, very, very slowly under the two wash racks. Most items were very deep and I was just making multiple scoop at whispers that got louder as I scooped.
I was using the AT Pro in Pro Zero Mode as usual, but in November I started using it completely wide open all the time without even a ground balance. I have found this is absolutely the best way to utilize the full capability of the machine. Target separation is a no brainer with the Pro and you can pick out the very deep high tone whispers running wide open.
I found the Tiffany 750 Gold Ring (4.3 grams) under one of the wash racks and the 925 Ring with, what I believe, fake diamonds, under the other wash rack.
Within eight feet from the Lifeguard Tower I found the 925 Silver Earring with, what I believe, is 16 genuine small diamonds, and a junk ring was also found.
Then, there is that copper Cookie Monster oval thing that I have no idea what it came off of. Does anybody know what it could have been attached to?
Thanks for Looking
