Had to promise wifey I wouldn?t detect where people could see me being Christmas day, whatever, I have this field that?s tucked away in a forest area which was just perfect. Has given up some nice finds in the past. Here?s the field, detected for about 2.5 hours today and had a great time. Temps in Germany were around 37F/3C with some sun. Found several coins and a few relics.
A large 2? disk from a horse bridal.
A nice military button with a rampant lion, probably late 1800s.
Reverse of the button with initials A. and SCH.
The relics and a few coins, the 2 Pfennig is a 1968 and the other is a 1 Pfennig 1945. Thought the thimble was silver as I could see a 65 on the side but after cleaning it I thinks its tin and the 6.5 is probably the size. Upper left is a cut dog license tag, probably dated around 1880 as I have another one with the date.
Obverse of a 1930 and a 1923.
Reverse
This is an interesting find, a ?Kriegsmunze? or ?War coin? from 1917. The lower inner and outer legend reads ?Gultig bis 6 monate nach friedensschiess? or ?Good for 6 months after peace shot?.
Here?s the reverse, the legend reads ?Stadtgemeinde Deggendorf 1917? or ?The township of Deggendorf 1917?
This is another exciting coin find today, a Romanian 1 something dated 1940.
The reverse, has a blemish on it but I?ll keep it, LOL! Had a good time out there today. HH and thanks for looking, Mike
