Today started out real slow. We went to a couple of beaches this morning and Andie found a silver chain right off the bat but I was about 2 hours later that I actually found something worth writing about. A ring. I couldn't tell if it was a "good" one or not but it was so discolored that I "thought" it was silver.

I found a 14k Italy gold cross after that and it is sweet!

I went over to show my daughter and she told me she had found not one but TWO rings. The first is nothing to get excited about. It is a plastic kids ring but the other is real nice. It is silver and at first looked like it had a black stone. It is NOT black but a very deep red! It's beautiful!

Then we went out to the 2nd park and started hunting. A teenage came over and asked me if I would help her find her class ring that she had just lost. Now, I am not that good at finding things. Most of the time when I find something it is purely by accident but I told her I would try. Problem was.... she told me it was approximately in one place but her friends disagreed and said it was in another. She said she lost it a few days ago but later said she lost it a few weeks ago. I looked for a while but told her if she lost it that long ago that it was probably already picked up by another MD'er or beach goer. I did not find it but while I was looking I did find another ring.... very very light maybe aluminum?

We both found over a dollar in clad. All in all it was a great day for both of us. I hope yours is as good. I'm happy with mine and can't wait till tomorrow.

Not exactly - I have been following him around like a little puppy and when he isn't looking I watch him like a hawk! So he isn't aware that he's training me!


BTW be on notice..... if ever I meet any of you gng's out hunting and you are one of the more experienced hunters.... watch out. I will be doing the same to you!

Me too. Last year I only found 1 gold ring, 1silver bracelet and 3 silver rings.

Wow Mumszie, you two really do well.  I should tag along with the two of you next time I'm in Florida.

I wish they would outlaw those aluminum rings.  I've found 3 of them now.  They almost cause a heart attach when one first sees them in the scoop only to realize they are made of aluminum. 

Too bad about the girl that lost her class ring.  Hopefully she will let everyone know about it that detects there, maybe offer a small reward, and maybe with some luck someone will find it.

My finds for the few days I was in Florida were (with a drum roll): 4 rings (all junk), about $10 in clad, and one thick charm that has Arabic writing and filigree work all over it.  The charm isn't marked so I assume it's not of any precious metal. 

I hope you two have many more finds over the summer.
