1st time using a Sov as a relic machine...not bad...35 CW bullets in 7+- hrs

I had never owned a Sovereign until a couple of days ago. An XS-2 Pro crossed my path at an great price, so I snatched it up. I am usually a beach guy, so I have lots of experience with Excals. I thought I would take advantage of the springtime lull before the active beach season and do a little relic hunting. I had never really thought of the FBS/BBS machines as relic hunters, but I decided to give the Sov a whirl at a new site. The days results are pictured below. What suprised me most was how hard and strong the Sov latched on to these...some at 10+ inches. When I hit the first one, I thought it was going to be a shotgun shell a couple of inches deep. When I hit the second one, I thought it was going to be a shotgun shell a couple of inches deep...by the end of the day, I was tired of digging these bad boys!!!

The Sovereign has always been a great machine in my book. Still have one of the first ones and a XS version. The only down side on the Sov, is the lack of a no motion pinpoint mode. What I like most about the Safari is the no motion pinpoint along with the FBS800 coil it seldom misses a target for me. CARM

without doubt the XS-2 Pro is an awsome relic detector.
Minelab's biggest mistake was changing the XS-2 Pro.
But then I guess if they still had it, less would buy the more expensive models.

the more you learn it, the more surprises, will make you talk to yourself.
you'll be saying WOW this really is an awsome detector.
and all of a sudden it will surprise you even more.
if you think your swinging short & slow enough,
swing slower & shorter SURPRISE

Pick up a W.O.T. coil, for open areas.
