Today I went back to a spot I hunted years ago with a Minelab Sovereign GT with a 10' DD coil.
It's an old unmaintained road with a bridge over a branch of a major river.
There is also an old gated cross-roads at this intersection.
This spot has been parked for years by fly fisherman.
It was very trashy and full of iron just as I have remembered it.
The Equinot with the 6" coil got the job done.
The Nox rang a kind of high "bleepy" sound with a VDI of 21-23. I figured it was a penny and out popped the wheatie.
Filled in the hole and re-swung over it; a solid 12. Had to be a nickel, nope two!!
Left the hole dug, and a nice 26 which was the Mercury dime.
Then, finally a solid 31 for the quarter.
I've never found a Buffalo, Mercury, or a quarter this vintage; woot.
Both the quarter and dime back's are just as nice as the fronts. No date on the nickels that I can make out.
Happy hunting all....
