I went out today to a place I had previously hunted with my Ace 250. I was bragging about my ATP yesterday and thought I would go to a place I had already been with my 250. I hunted the exact same area today as i did before. Things were going really slow. I didn't find much trash at all and I remember digging a lot of trash with my 250. I was also bragging about well I had done on nickles earlier in the week. My best day i hit on 14 nickles.
Well today I was getting really strong nickel signals and a #52 that stayed right on 52 but when i dug I was getting beer can rings. I was getting frustrated when I finally hit a nickle same tone and solid 52.

Things were really slow only 2 pennies and a quarter here and there. it was raining and I was thinking heck that 250 did better than I thought. I was about 3/4 of the area finished. I was detecting along a sidewalk when I hit a good signal with a solid 80. I thought heck it could even be a penny.

I dug down about 4" and seen this shiny dime and thought that was pretty shiney for being that deep,I picked it fro the hole rubbed it off and sure enough a 1929 merc.

I was elated since I have found over $400 in the past 13 months without any silver and only 7 wheaties.

I only found $2.27 today including my silver but it was well worth it. It now gives me hope I will find more silver. Not many old places or old parks around here that I can hunt.

Todays hunt confirmed my belief that the ACE 250 is a pretty good coin hog as well.

Congrats on the silver!! My only two silvers are dimes as well. I have noticed with the ATP, that solid repeatable 50-53 I am 90% sure it is a nickel' sure once in a while it will be a pull tab, but if it ever goes over 53, say flashes a 54, I am 90% sure it is not a nickel, could still be a good find...............just not gonna be a nickel!!

Congrats on that first silver! Nothing like the first time you see it coming out of the ground... well maybe gold would be even cooler, but you know what I mean. The melt value of a mercury dime is about $1.57 today, and I think the numismatic value ranges from almost $3 to as high as $30 in great condition. Good luck keeping the streak going, sounds like you are putting the time in so you'll be digging more silver, I imagine.

Good job! I as well had an ace 250 earlier on for about 2 years and I was quit happy with it as well, my pro I've had it for a couple days now and even today my daughter and I went to then same school yards I've hunted with my ace and tek4000 and iam finding stuff I've missed or previous machines did not pick up, and I as well love to pull silver out of the ground

I didn't take a pic because I didn't think a 1929 was very significant. Now if i would have found more than one i certainly would have. On the other hand I should take pics because I have had several days of $12 to $25 in clad. Thanks for mentioning it and thanks to all that gave me congrats.

Congrats! There's nothing like that first silver! All silver is pic worthy. Gotta love that shine!
