1st Silver, and it's a 1st Ring to boot.

Well, I came home to Oklahoma for a couple of weeks to visit my mother. She lives in an older house built in 1935 in a small town, so I figured why not go out to the back yard and ping it up since it had never seen a detector in the 30 years that she has lived there. Within about 30-45 minutes I got a pretty solid signal so I decided to give it a dig and low and behold about 3-4 inches I pulled out a clump of dirt. There was a nice shiny silver band showing so I thought that maybe I had found my first silver, but kinda figured it was a pull tab or some of the standard junk that my detector loves so much. As I started breaking the dirt clod apart and my finger went through the silver ring and I realized this was no coin or tab!!! I quickly dusted it off some until I could see a definite ring, I had my wife go rinse it off without rubbing it and place it in a bowl vinegar water. I kept pinging and not much else found so called it 100+ degree quits for the day and went in to check my finds. So here is my first silver and first ring hope you like it. BTW any info on ring as far as age estimates are welcome, my mother had never owned it or seen it before.

Love the picture of it sitting there all unpretentious among your other finds : ) Nice find!

I would say late 1800's to early 1900's. I would say the diamond is fake also. I hope and wish it's not. Good score thought it's been a while since my last ring.

WTG,nice bling.............................

I checked out the makers mark <--U--<< said something about costume jewelry 1920 - 198? but need to check more sites to verify. So unfortunately the diamond is prolly fake but at least the ring says sterling, so real silver.

Beautifull ring, diamond probably fake,I'd call it 1900-1930 Cool looking though, congrats on the first of many hopfully......HH :occasion14:

Maby turn of century, the stone,if it glisens all the colors of the rainbow,It's a diamond,if not It's glass. Happy hunting.:icon_thumleft:
