Hunted a sports venue (youth soccer fields) today and had a little success. Newbie here, so it doesn't take much to yank my la la string. First hit yielded a smallish, sterling silver ring (NF 925 Thailand) with Christian theme, i.e., engraved w/"True Love Waits". Dug some clad ($1.28) and yes, a cpl of pull tabs hoping for gold or a Nickle. Wierd ingot (?) remains a mystery. Shiny silver when scrapped but very 'light' wt. Silver solder perhaps??? I think its some kind of aluminum weld slag from modern playground stuff ... Nice Ring !!! HH :skullflag:

Thanks Gman for the ID. Did pull it from a totlot...it was the only hit I had there, so someone else got 'in line' ahead of me. Good to learn something new. It looked like some kind of solder or slag. Alum explains it's being 'light in the britches'. Thanks again and HH! :notworthy:
