I had picked up $250.00 in IKE's a few weeks ago and have been collecting various silver halves since the first of the year. Today I had a yard sale to get rid of a few house hold items so I thought I would give a shot at selling some of the coins. I sold 20 or IKE's at $2.00 each, 1 "64 for $5.00, and a '52 for $7.00. Not a bad day to turn $21.00 into $52.00. I think I will keep searching and sell a few now and then at yard sales.....

That is a pretty darn good profit. Congrats!

Cool Profit. Just be careful, if you do this too often, you could get known for having silver coins and become a target for a burglery. HH Gayle

that would be a real bad decision on someone part, silverstearer is my son and he is a big and take after his father. pay back is hell

At the Baltimore coin show, I saw a couple booths selling Ikes, plain ole everyday crappy Ikes for $2 a piece. Did not see anyone buying them. But they probably do sell.

I am not sure if the IKE's are type I or II. In fact I do not even know the difference.

The yard sale was at the community center so I was somewhat able to hide amongst the crowd. It probably would be a bad idea to sell them at your own yard sale in front of your house.

Most people were buying them for there children....birth years and such. A couple of folks keep asking if I had any that were minted before '70. I told them if I did they would not be for sale at $2.00 a piece.

The IKE's in general are hard to come by in this area. I was able to pick them up from a local bank. The teller told me that some older guy had dropped off various coins and bills. That day I was able to pull in a good haul of silver halves. 5 two dollar bills and the IKE's. There were no silver IKES in the lot.

Thanks for reading....thanks for the ideas and replies.......
