1st hunt with new 6" Excelerator coil on the Se

Well I have not posted in quite a while but I have been picking up the pace. This week I have 9 wheaties, and I got to try out my new 6" Excelerator coil today.....

Here are my thoughts.... :) :)

Well the first thing I noticed running the sens. at 24 was the coil was 100% stable, smooth threshold which allowed me to work a little faster than I have been.

The results of the coil were extremely impressive! Three hours and 20 minutes covering a tot lot and a baseball outfield produced over 100 coins and over $8 in clad...one wheatie today which already met a lawnmower...a 44-s.

The coil is lightweight, pinpointing dead on and will pay for itself very quickly....

Wonderful finds!

Did you dig much trash, or did the new coil get rid of that?

I don't know what I'd do with out my pull tabs!

Hello Buddy Gregg!
Good to see you swinging again and not just shifts! :)

Yes, I agree; smaller is better when it comes to coils! I have the 5 inch and 4.5x7 Excelerators and really like them both. I find they do an excellent job under tot lot equipment, fences, and along rebarred concrete. They're really good with very small items as well. Unlike you, I crank SENS. up to 32 max utilizing SEMI-AUTO SENS with GAIN@10. Doing so works for me.

Keeping it swung low,

I dug a few more bottle caps today but with the dirt stuck in them I throw them out before entering house... Last year I brought some ants in the house that way so I toss in can before I go in. The other junk is pictured on right side of pic.

Thanks Ron I have been out 9 straight days now....I needed the lighter coil today...arms a little stiff.. :D With the sens. I am looking for stability in the threshold and did not try any higher today... The other two coils on the Se I use...the ML 8" and the stock slimline...seem to like sens in low 20's... But they both have problems with falsing and loss of threshold once I crank higher...

Gregg,

Keep it up!

How many coins are you at for this year? :)

Kirk

This year I have kept track each day but not totaled coins... I have kept track of dollar amount... I right in $400 area in clad... I have not totaled my wheaties ...will at end of year and silver I am doing better this year. I missed a few of my hunts due to a temporary shift change for a month...But since that ended I have been out 9 straight... I have a little more equipment to pay for... doubt I can get Se, the extra shafts, extra coils all paid for this year... You never know though... Fingers crossed... :) But odd no gold rings for me this year... Only gold was two earrings found about a month apart on broken signals...one was right next to a penny.

Thats awesome! Love the key!!!

Thanks the key seems to be one of those small ones for maybe a travel lock. I found that in a tot lot. Earlier this year I got my first skeleton key...which was of my list and the other day I found a door latch for a skeleton key in real nice shape... :)
