I was able to get out for a while today at a site I've wanted to hunt for years. It is a race track / carnival grounds that closed in the 1930's. My father has memories of going there as a child. Most of the area was too wet and soft to hunt on, but in the part I could work I found 5 coins. They were a 1908 D Barber dime, 1906 Indian Head, and 1910, 1911, 1914 s wheaties. I wasn't the first to hunt this site, but the owners have limited the access to this site for years. To say I'm anxious to get back there would be an understatement.
Sorry, but I didn't take pictures. The dime was pretty worn and the pennies were toasty, but it was a great way to start the year.
