Hey everyone,
Got out this morning with OSE (Old School Evan) to a good spot that he generously invited me to pillage with him  Following a path in a wooded area led me to score a 1901 Barber Dime and then a bit further up I got a screamer that turned out to be my first Barber Half Dollar (1899) which got me pumped!! Things slowed down a bit after that but on the way out I got another loud and proud signal which turned out to be my 30th Copper on the year, 1847 LC. The scanner pics as usual don't do true justice but here they are anyway, thanks for looking and HH! :sunny:

The scanner did plenty of justice to the Barber half, it's beautiful. Pretty darn scarce around here too !!!

Congrats on a great day. Looking forward to getting back out there now that fall is upon us. Love this time of year for detecting...

I don't think half dollars were ever common finds, face it they are big, and shinny when lost, older ones were worth a lot when lost, maybe one or two days pay for the average joe, and the looser would have spent considderable time looking for it.

Anyway things are aloud to slow down after a half find, fact I'd probably sit right down and call it a day...nahh.

Nice find (s)

Finding a barber half is fantastic, and finding one THAT pretty is even better, congrats!

VERY NICE, I dug an 1899 Barber Half a couple months back, thought it was a Seated Half at first given the age of the site, but those Barbers sure are pretty coins too and definitely wasn't mad to have it! Congrats buddy :occasion14:
