Ok so found this today while going through some cents. As you can tell from the photos this is pitted into the coin itself. I am sure all will say PMD and well most of the time I would also. But this cent looks different for some reason. Anyways please share your thoughts

Looks like salt water ate the zinc. I like the large pennies and have 1800 and 1846 from 40 years of MDing. I think the dime was from a beach???:4leafclover::4leafclover::4leafclover::4leafclover:20120511_105751.jpg

Mid year 1982 the mint changed the metal alloy content from 95% copper cent to a 95% zinc core with a thin layer of copper.Once the copper plating has been compromised by either damage or wear or the envirement it exposes the zinc which is highly corrosive.Zinc Rot
 

When I dig them I throw them in the trash.
