1998-2000 CRH Wide AM cents

Just reached the $10FV mark of 1998-2000 cents checking for Wide AM reverses. I've found 2 1998s, and 2 2000s.

While this is a small sample size, I thought anyone else that looks for these in their CRH might be interested. Curious if anyone else tracks these.

I've been looking for em, haven't found any yet! I should just start storing them until I get several bucks face and then check the backs. Hope you find a '99! I bet they're tough. Thanks for the info, I love new stats!

I feel like I could move on to another error variety once (if) I snag a '99. Alas, I'm not holding my breath.

I check for them, but I only check those that are AU (borderline) and above. I know it throws out a large percentage of possibilities, but I figure the market for those finds are limited to top grades anyway. As a collector, if I were to purchase an example, I would want an example that had eye appeal and not just the aforementioned variety. I have the 98 and 2000, but still have my eye out for the 99.

I have been searching pennies for almost a year now. Have yet to find my first wide AM have found a bunch of copper though few handfuls of Wheaties and a bag full of AU various dates. This post though just keeps me going! Have you ever found any other die varieties or double dies?

I haven't kept stats, but i'm generally on the lookout for 1996/96d WAM, 1992/92d CAM, 72 DDO, and 2009/09d FY#2 thumb doubling. I got bored of looking for 89 obverse no VDB. I've found one really nice '09, but nothing else from this list. Gotta say a few of 72 DDO pics that have gone up on this forum in the last few months have had me drooling.

I know it sounds cliche, but you REALLY know it when you see it (wide AM). After checking what had to be thousands of 98, 99 & 00's I finally found a '98 wide AM. I dont know how many times I double and triple checked it (and still check it every time I open my "vault") but it felt pretty good to find an error variety on my own. Its not worth a whole lot compared to other coins, but it is my favorite coin that I have found since starting CRH.

that's actually pretty useful to hear, it will save me a lot of time triple checking every 99 I find, haha

Updating my original post.

Just passed $20FV mark of 1998-2000 cents searched for WAMs.

I've added another x5 1998s and x1 2000 (which makes 4 total is my first $10FV, and 6 more in the next $10).

Still searching for that 1999...

Rough patch for the last $10 FV (going from $20 -> $30FV searched). I only picked up x1 1998.

That brings me to 8 ('98) + 3 ('00). Still searching for that 1999...

I have searched roughly 3,500 probably for the WAM varieties, here is my exact count, thought I had more of the 98's and 00's.

2 99's

That's cool don't forget about the 96 wide am yea there really is a 96 WAM but I went threw 100s of boxes and have
