I am normally a coin hunter, but anything money tends to catch my eye. I just got a circulated but still crisp bill from the teller. normally i would have just spent it, since i know that bills even old ones tend not to be valuable. But I am thinking its age coupled with the fact it is a star note and its serial number is 415 thousand, might make it worth something? Any body know?

The 1977 (I assume $1 bill) was printed as Series 1977 and Series 1977-A. Within each series the 12 Federal Reserves all printed bills, including 'star' bills. The most valuable is the bill issued in Boston (large letter 'A' on the bill). In UNC-63 condition that bill might retail for about $20; all the others--between $7 and $10. If your bill's serial number is exactly '00415000' you can probably get a couple extra bucks--based on your salesman's pitch and flowery narrative.

this is a 100 dollar bill

My bad; didn't see the "100" at first reading.
In '77 (100s) there is no Series A; only the Series of 1977.
All star $100 from that series were valued at $275 in UNC-63 (retail) in 2008 (same source as noted above).

If I had it and wanted to sell it, I'd list it on Ebay without hesitation.
Check "Completed Listings" (left column) on Ebay for actual sales prices, not listings. It will appear like this:
