1976 STATE Pennies

I was going through some childhood coin collections from my wife. She has a bunch of 1976 pennies that have states stamped into them. Maybe a third of the states are there. Does anyone else have similar pennies? I don't know if it was a kit, or pennies she was given. She doesn't remember, she was real young at the time.
I don't have macro on camera, so pics don't come out to good.

I'm pretty sure they were stamped, at tourist type places, as a record of having visited. I could also be wrong.

Would they all have been stamped at the same place? They are all 1976 pennies. Maybe a bicentennial year thing?

that was me . i don't see them in circulation. they were issued as a bicenntinal tribute . from the mints. also i asked about the canadian expo penny 70-73? don't see those either.

sorry bch sometimes us newbies forget that this forum has been around awhile thank jesus. its helping me through cabin fever. hubby wont let me md in the house probably because it does'nt sound out a loud treasure signal when i swing it near him. haha kinda wish i was in fla. cold here. bro in orlando, neph.s, in titusville,tampa and family in ft. pierce. thanks for responding to my reply.
