I'm not one of the coin people, but I don't think the 1971 nickels made in Philly had a mint mark. Hopefully one of the coin people will reply. WELCOME to the forum.

That's right breezie. Philly nickels didn't have a "P" then. "D" designates Denver mint and "S" designated being minted in San Francisco.
Just a common '71 nickel. It is real :-)
