I can just imagine the many silver coins below stuck in the rocks...I'm sure it might have been like a wishing well to the tourist years prior! I was only 1 year old, so I wasn't old enough to swing a detector at the time!

I was actually there that summer. I was a teenager, and my family often visited Niagara Falls on vacation. Somewhere packed away I have photos. It was awesome. The exposed bedrock had big potholes that had been scoured by the waterflow. There were some huge fish swimming around in some of them. I was more interested in wishing I had a shot at those fish than any coins back then. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of coins were thrown into them over the course of the summer.
